Welcome to the 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) Blended Learning course! This course is designed for healthcare providers and public safety professionals, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants.
The class is offered in a blended learning format. You’ll begin with the online portion, which is accessible on mobile, desktop, or tablet, and must be completed before attending the in-person instructor-led skills session.
Once you successfully complete the course, you'll receive a 2-year digital Basic Life Support certificate, with easy, anytime, anywhere access to your certificate and training history. Plus, the American Red Cross is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education, so you can earn continuing education credits as well!

Welcome to the 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) Blended Learning course! This course is designed for healthcare providers and public safety professionals, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants.
Course Format
- Blended Learning: Combines online training with an in-person skills session.
- Online Training: Complete before attending the in-person session. Allow 1-3 hours for this part and start at least 48 hours prior to the in-person session.
- In-Person Training: Hands-on skills training must be completed within 90 days of the online training.
Certification
- Valid: 2 years
- Certificate: Digital, issued upon successful completion
Important Notes for the In-Person Session:
- Dress Comfortably: You will be performing skills on the floor during the course.
- CPR Requirement: The American Red Cross requires all students to complete one full round of CPR on the floor as part of the training.
- Medical Restrictions/Concerns: If you have any medical restrictions or concerns, please contact our office at 314-200-5897 before registering to discuss available accommodations. We are here to assist you!
- Proof of Online Course Completion is REQUIRED: To attend the in-person training, you must provide proof of completing the online course. The online training typically takes 1-3 hours, so we recommend starting it at least 48 hours before your in-person session to ensure you are fully prepared. If you haven't done this before class, no refunds will be issued.
- Email: Each registrant must provide a unique email address for course-related information. You cannot use the same email address
